Vassilis Drakonakis, PhD, Dipl Ing. Industrial, Mechanical and Aeronautics Engineer

Vassilis (Dipl.-Ing. 2008 UoPatras/Greece, PhD 2012 UoTexas Arlington/USA) is a Mechanical and Aeronautics Engineer with 1) strong technical background on development, industrial processing, and characterization of advanced polymer composites and 2) extensive experience in technology projects management. He has obtained international and multidisciplinary experience by working as a scientist in world-class research laboratories such as PCL - Seattle WA USA, NECST - Cambridge MA USA, Hephaistus NRS – Cyprus, CMG and AML in Patras, Greece. Throughout his doctoral studies, he was mainly supported by research grants from the Air Force Office of Scientific Research (AFOSR). He has also worked as a PDRA in the MEP Research Unit at Cyprus University of Technology and as a visiting lecturer at the University of Nevada, Reno. Vassilis has co-authored 17 scientific papers in peer-reviewed journals, 14 papers in peer-reviewed conference proceedings, and 15 conference presentations in composite materials processing. He is one of the three co-founders of AmaDema.

Katerina Sofocleous, PhD, Mechanical and Material Engineer

Katerina (BEng 2003 & PhD 2008 UoSurrey/UK) is a Mechanical Engineer with strong background in Mechanical and Materials engineering. Her research expertise is in mechanical testing of CFRP composite materials; in smart material reinforcements; in energy analysis and damage development. Katerina has also worked as a PDRA at University of Cyprus. Her work is well-documented in more than 7 peer reviewed journal publications and conference papers. She is one of the three co-founders of AmaDema.

Evelthon Iacovides, MBA, Senior Economist

Evelthon (BA 1985 Swarthmore College/USA & MBA 1986 Hult International Business School/USA) has over 33 years of experience as an economist and management consultant with expertise in small and medium enterprise (SME) management and consulting, marketing research and techno-economic feasibilities studies, small business training, and environmental and socio-economic impact assessment. Evelthon is also one of the three co-founders of AmaDema.

Haris Doumanidis

Haris Doumanidis , PhD, Dipl Ing. Mechanical Engineering

Haris Doumanidis has his Mechanical Engineering Diploma from the Aristotelian Univ. of Thessaloniki, his MS from Northwestern University, and PhD from MIT in Mechanical Engineering, followed by a Postdoc appointment at LMP. He has been on the faculty at Tufts University, MIT, University of Cyprus, University of Nevada Reno, Khalifa University and Nazarbayev University, served in the R&D of Hellenic Airforce, Axcelis Technologies, Honda Research Institute, as founding director of the NSF Nanomanufacturing Program, as well as a consultant for the automation, optoelectronics, biomedical, aviation and automotive industry. His work addresses modeling and control of dynamic geometry in thermomechanical processing including welding, ultrasonic rapid manufacturing, laser coating, annealing and cutting. He is a recipient of the Marie Curie Chair of Excellence by the European Commission, the ASME Blackall Award, the Presidential Faculty Fellow Award by the White House (President William J. Clinton), the NSF Young Investigator and the Research Initiation Award as well as several grants from the EC, NSF, SME, Honda R&D Americas etc. He has supervised ten Doctoral and thirty-six Masters students creditable for four best paper awards and seven startup companies, and mentors several young investigators in the US, Europe, Middle East, Central and SE Asia.
